Certificate I develops foundational knowledge and routine skills in hospitality and tourism for participation in the workforce, structured community activities, or further vocational training.
Entry Requirements: Academic Qualifications: Completion of 4 years of secondary school or equivalent work experience. Completion of NZQA Level 5 with an academic score of 5.5 (or equivalent). Must have completed Secondary School offshore or New Zealand Year 12 or equivalent. Age Requirement: All international students must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the course, per the Code of Practice requirements. English Language Requirements: IELTS: Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 TOEFL paper-based test carried out prior to 1 October 2017 with a score of 550 and an essay score of 5.5. TOEFL internet-based test with a minimum score of 46 (writing score 14). Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill. OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests NZCEL: Level 4 General or Employment Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36. LanguageCert: B2 Communicator IESOL (LRWS) with HIGH PASS and no less than Pass in each skill Trinity ISE: ISE II with no less than merit in any band
