Foundation studies equip international students with academic English, study skills, and subject fundamentals required for successful entry into Australian and New Zealand universities. Programs are structured as formal pathway qualifications aligned to tertiary preparation standards.
IELTS (Academic) 5.5 overall with no band below 5.0 for Standard Foundation (or approved equivalent per UQ College table). Academic requirements by country in the Foundation brochure. Progression to UQ requires meeting published GPA and degree rules.
Completion leads primarily to university admission rather than direct employment. Students progress into bachelor degrees across business, engineering, health, IT, arts, and science disciplines at partner institutions.
