This bachelor qualification develops comprehensive undergraduate knowledge in design and creative arts, combining theory, applied projects, and professional preparation for graduate employment or further study.
Academic Requirements: ATAR 65 Assumed knowledge: two units of HSC English. Recommended studies: HSC English Standard, or equivalent. Applicants wishing to pursue a major in Music will be selected by one of three methods: Attain an HSC Music result in band 4 or above. No audition is required. Hold the following AMEB or equivalent (e.g. Trinity College) qualification: PASS standard (minimum) of 6th Grade Performance (instrument or voice) AND PASS standard (minimum) of 4th Grade musicianship and/or theory. No audition is required. Attend an audition in person as a performer and/or composer. Applicants applying as a composer will need to bring recordings and/or scores of original compositions to the audition. After applying to UAC or Directly to Western applicants are required to book an audition online. Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic version) - 6.5 overall scores, minimum 6.0 in each subtest. TOEFL (iBT) - Total score 82, Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13. TOEFL (PBT) - 575 International Bacculareaute 24 – Diploma Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) - 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50 Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English - Cambridge English level B2, overall score 176, no section less than 169 The College – English Placement Test - 80% Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Certificate - Completed AQF Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Diploma - Completed Diploma or Advanced Diploma in any area of at least 1 academic year of study completed within the last 2 years Occupational English Test (OET) - At least 2 B’s and 2 C’s Prior studies in English OUTSIDE Australia - 2 years of full-time study at a recognised post-secondary institution where the language of instruction is English Ability English – 10 weeks EAP - Level 4 Australian International College of English (AICE) - EAP 4 ‘Distinction Australian Pacific College – EAP (10+ weeks) - EAP A, Grade: B+ Grade = B+ across majority competencies English First (EF) – 12-week EF University Foundation Year - Grade = 70% Universal English College - AEP 4, Grade: A AEP 3, Grade A
